ASB Un-Plugged 2010
International One-to-One Learning Conference
ASB Un-Plugged 2010 is for those who wish to understand how students and educators have embraced innovation, change, and leadership in education for the 21st century. Hear educators and students sharing their best practices, strategies and techniques, ideas and applications that have proven to be successful in a one-to-one environment. Learn about the administration of the program—launching a laptop program, professional development, classroom management, responsible use policies, community support, resources, and support structures.
Our four day conference is designed for educators to share ideas and strategies that enhance learning in a one-to-one environment. We invite educators to present their experiences and ideas through workshops, job-alike sessions, seminars, and hands-on clinics. Be a presenter at Un-Plugged 2010 and share learning experiences from your one-to-one program.
Our conference speakers include Scott Klososky, Doug Johnson, Helen Barrett and Scott McLeod. Scott Klososky, a former CEO of three successful Internet companies, has no fear about shaking up the status quo around the way we use technology. He highlights the power of innovation to transform teaching and learning. His keynotes are riveting and his workshops instill new concepts that can be applied immediately to maximize results.
Doug Johnson, the information literacy expert, believes that good research projects should not only teach important info literacy skills, but should also help students develop higher level thinking processes and creativity skills. He thinks the E-book will be a major who-moved-my-cheese event for our profession. An amazing speaker, thinker, and motivator, he is recognized by ISTE as one of the top 20 “Best of the Best” workshop presenters at NECC.
Helen Barrett, the electronic portfolios guru, believes that Reflection is the ‘heart and soul’ of a portfolio and not the tools that are used. A researcher and teacher, she has been studying the impact of electronic portfolios on student learning, motivation, and engagement, and is currently working on using iPods and iPhones for ePortfolios.
Scott McLeod, the school tech leadership expert, is the Director of the UCEA Center for the Advanced Study of Technology Leadership in Education (CASTLE, www.schooltechleadership.org), the only center in the U.S. dedicated to the technology needs of school administrators. The creator of the famous Did You Know? video, he inspires leaders to leverage the power of digital tools to address lead their schools.
